Financial Planner and Founder
With the backing of a handful of clients who believed in him, Ken stepped out on his own and founded Solid Rock. The year was 2009 which held a few surprises, like a world recession. He really did start at rock bottom with the pressures of a young family to provide for.
His journey in financial planning started more than a decade before, working for the corporate giant, Liberty Life. Ken learnt the hard lessons of being a tied agent until he accepted a position at a bespoke independent firm. In the 5 years that followed, Ken learned a whole new standard of financial planning. Spotting a gap in the line, Solid Rock Financial Planning was founded.
Fast forward to today, he has been dubbed the happiest man in Glencairn and can be found in 1 of 3 places.

James started his career as a independent financial planner back in 2011. Prior to that he has had many years of experience in private and commercial Banking. James is a straight shooter who adds value by helping clients unlock their blindspots and to see the bigger picture. Things are right or wrong and that’s why his clients love and keep recommending him. His passion for economy, politics and history makes him an excellent planner and valuable member of the team.
If James isn’t playing tennis or hiking up some volcano, or reading up about proposed government policy he’s probably enjoying some form of political commentary.

Cam Stuart
Financial Planner
Cameron has joined Solid Rock as a financial planner. After spending the majority of his working life as a creative in the graphic design and film industry. The “Passion first; money will follow” approach sparked a necessary interest in personal finance. If he wasn’t going to earn big money, his money needed to work hard. Cam self-funded his formal studies and joined Solid Rock in 2022. He is currently working under the supervision of Ken and loves the positive impact financial planning has on people’s lives.
If the NW is blowing you’ll find Cam in the surf at Muizies or hunting for yellow tail on the reefs off Arniston after the SE has been pumping.

Anne Woods
Medical Aid Specialist
Anne is our Medical Aid Specialist. She started her career in environmental sciences and after twists and turns, started fulling in at Solid Rock. Spotting a gap, Ken asked Anne to keep her finger on the pulse of the ever-changing world of medical aids. Anne helps clients to process claims and advises the best-fitting plans. What most people don’t know is that advisory fees are built into all medical aids, so why not let us look after you? Give Anne a call and see how she can assist you.

Jocelyn Pike
Master Administrator
Jos has been with Solid Rock from before the beginning. Working with Ken before, she braved the waters and stepped out with Ken when Solid Rock was founded back in 2009. Not being one for the limelight, Jos keeps us moving forward by checking and following up all with seemingly effortless strokes.
No one knows the systems of the insurance industry like she does. If there’s a follow-up, her response is normally: “It’s all done Ken.”
Jos is a fantastic mother and pours herself into her young family.
